Google Gemini for Education
Gemini for Education is a powerful AI tool that can help the ATSU community learn, collaborate, and create more effectively. It is available in three different levels:
Free option
The basic level of Gemini is free for all ATSU students and educators. It includes features such as:
- Summarization
- Translation
- Q&A
- Text generation
- Code generation
- Enterprise-grade Data Protection: User data is safeguarded and not used to train AI models or shared with others
Paid options: Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium
There are currently two paid versions of Google Gemini: Gemini Education and Gemini Education Premium. You can compare these paid options here.
A few paid-option highlights include:
- Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Classroom, Slides, Sheets, Drive and Meet
- Gemini Advanced, providing access to premium features like Gems
- NotebookLM Plus, helping accelerate learning and knowledge sharing with AI grounded in your sources
- Enterprise-grade privacy and security
- Advanced meetings with Gemini in Meet – take notes for you, translated captions (Premium)
- Full access to generative AI capabilities (Premium)

How to Use Gemini at A.T. Still University
Anyone with an ATSU account can use Gemini basic simply by being logged in with an ATSU account. Once logged in, you can access Gemini by clicking on the Gemini icon in the Google Toolbar. Or go to https://gemini.google.com/
Gemini is a powerful tool that can be used in a variety of ways to enhance learning and teaching. Here are a few examples:
Students
- Use Gemini to summarize lecture notes
- Translate foreign language texts
- Generate citations for research papers
- Brainstorm presentations and infographics
Educators
- Use Gemini to create interactive quizzes and assignments
