What Is Harmonize Peer Review?
Harmonize Peer Review allows you to give and receive feedback on discussion posts from your classmates. After you submit your own post, Harmonize will automatically assign you a set number of peer posts to review. You’ll provide feedback based on prompts or a rubric provided by your instructor. This process helps you reflect more deeply on the course content and improve your own work through peer insights.
How to Complete a Peer Review
- Submit Your Own Post
- Navigate to the Harmonize discussion in your Canvas course.
- Create and submit your post by the due date. You must submit your post before you can begin reviewing others.
- Access Assigned Peer Reviews
- After the review period begins, return to the same Harmonize discussion.
- You’ll see a “Peer Review” tab or a notification showing how many reviews you’ve been assigned.
- Click on each assigned post to begin your review.
- Provide Feedback
- Read your peer’s post carefully.
- Respond to the review prompts or rubric criteria provided.
- Your feedback may include written comments, ratings, or suggestions for improvement.
- Once finished, click Submit Review to complete each one.
- Complete All Assigned Reviews
- Make sure to complete all required reviews before the deadline. You can track your progress in the Peer Review tab.
If a Rubric Is Enabled
If your instructor has enabled a rubric for the peer review:
- Each review will include a set of criteria or questions to guide your feedback.
- You may be asked to rate specific aspects of the post (e.g., clarity, evidence, engagement) using a scale (e.g., 1–5 stars or descriptive labels).
- You’ll also have space to leave written comments for each criterion.
- Be thoughtful and constructive—your feedback helps your peers grow and contributes to your own learning.
