Student Technology Requirements

ATSU recognizes that technology is an important tool for all health care professions. This page contains information which will be helpful to students in planning for the technology requirements for their particular program.

Residential students are required to own laptop computers for use in their coursework. Distance learning students may use either desktops or laptops. Additionally, ASDOH, KCOM, and MOSDOH students are required to own iPads. All equipment must meet a defined set of minimum specifications.

If after reviewing the information on this page, if you still have questions about the computer requirements, then please contact the ATSU Help Desk.

Minimum Technology Specifications for 2016-2017

Although we don’t have specific requirements as to model and brand, ATSU is authorized to repair Lenovos. Below are the minimum specifications for computers in your coursework. Please note these are minimum specs, not recommended specs. A computer for professional study is not a good place to economize. Technology advances quickly and ATSU stays up-to-date with those advances. Thus, if you matriculate with a computer that is several years old, you incur a risk of having issues particularly with network connectivity before you graduate.
