Minimum technology specifications for 2020-2021

It is your choice whether to use a laptop or desktop and whether you use a Windows computer or a Mac. Any reputable computer dealer can assist you with the specifications. Note that some schools or programs may not require cameras and headsets, please check with your instructor.

Windows computer

  • i5 Processor or better
  • 8GB RAM
  • Windows OS (Operating System) 10
  • Microsoft Office 2016 or newer, or
    • When you receive your ATSU account information (This includes access to the my.atsu.edu portal and ATSU email.), you acquire access to Office 365. Please follow these instructions, if you choose to use your Office 365 account it will be disabled upon graduation. At that time you should either purchase a personal Office 365 account or move any files you need to save.
    • The suite of applications you receive with your GSuite for Education account may not be used to substitute for MS Office.  Office 365 is fine.
  • DSL, cable, or other high-speed internet
  • Webcam
  • Headset

Apple computer

  • i5 Processor or better (Intel-based Processor)
  • 8GB of RAM
  • Microsoft Office 2016 or newer
    • You can request Office 365 from the Service Desk at no charge. Your account will be disabled upon graduation and you will need to purchase a personal account at that time if you want to retain your data.
    • The suite of applications you receive with your GSuite for Education account may not be used to substitute for MS Office.  Office 365 is fine.
